A traveling light is taken to the bedside of an ailing brother to symbolized that the Lodge is always by his side. When the brother recovers, he is supposed to return the light to the Lodge for it to be used the next time a member needs a visual show of support. Should the ailing brother pass, the Lodge may choose to leave the light with the family so they’re always reminded that they have Masonic support.
The lamp itself is made of cherry wood. It is 5 1/2" wide x 9" long x 3" tall
